NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday flagged the issue of infiltration at a rally in Santhal Pargana division and asserted that the protection of Roti, Beti, and Mati (livelihood, daughter and land) is the biggest issue of worry in the state. Modi assured the people, at a rally in Deogarh district, that the Bharatiya Janata Party will protect their land, daughters and livelihood if it comes to power.
"Wherever I have travelled in Jharkhand, the biggest worry has been about infiltration.... These infiltrators snatched your jobs and 'roti'. The protection of Roti, Beti and Maati is the biggest issue in this election. I assure you that BJP will protect them," Modi said.
Modi alleged that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led-government allowed infiltrators to become permanent citizens. He further alleged that a conspiracy is being made to change the identity of Jharkhand. "We have to protect our tribal families and every Jharkhandi from this. Under JMM-Congress, every wrong thing was done to make these infiltrators permanent residents in the state. Tribal daughters were cheated in the name of marriage and their lands were taken away. These infiltrators snatched away your employment and food, and look at the double standards of Jharkhand government, they said in court that there has been no infiltrations in the state," Modi said.
"Today, the first phase of voting is happening in Jharkhand. The resolve to protect livelihood, daughters, and land is visible at every booth. There is strong support for the guarantees that the BJP has given for the future of women and youth. It is certain that the JMM-Congress will be wiped out in the Santhali region this time," Modi said.
Modi also slammed the Congress, stating that it wants to remove reservations for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes. "The Congress wants to end the identity of scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, and other backward classes. They want to make all these castes fight against each other. The day this happens, the collective strength of minority communities will end and Congress will end the reservation for these communities," said Modi.
The first phase of polling in 43 seats across 15 districts is underway in Jharkhand on Wednesday. The remaining 38 seats will go to polls in phase two on Nov. 20 and the results will be announced on Nov. 23. End
