MUMBAI – Indian companies raised $4.84 billion through external commercial borrowings in September, down from $5.91 billion in August, data released by the Reserve Bank of India Tuesday showed.
Indian companies raised $3.78 billion through the automatic route in September, and $1.07 billion through the approval route, the data showed. Power Finance Corp. Ltd. was the sole borrower through the approval route.
Shriram Finance was the largest borrower through the automatic route in August, raising $750 million, followed by Indian REC Ltd., which raised $500 million.
