Claims settled by EPFO rise 7.8% on year in FY24, subscribers up 7.6%

NEW DELHI – The number of claims settled by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation rose 7.8% on year in 2023-24 (Apr-Mar) to 44.5 million from 41.3 million in FY23, the labour ministry said in a release on Sunday. The number of contributing establishments grew 6.6% on year to 766,000 from 718,000 million in FY23, data showed.
The number of contributing members grew 7.6% on year to 73.7 million in FY24 from 68.5 million in FY23. The organisation also saw an increase of 55.4% in realising arrear dues to INR 52.68 billion in FY24 from INR 33.90 billion in the previous year.
These numbers were part of the Annual Report for the year FY24, which was recommended for adoption to the central board of EPFO by the executive committee of the central board, the labour ministry said in a release. Labour Secretary Sumita Dawra, who is also the chairperson of executive committee of EPFO's central board, presided over the 109th meeting of the executive committee on Friday. This was the first meeting of the executive committee after it was re-constituted in September. End
