INDIA bloc manifesto promises INR 2,500 to women in Jharkhand

NEW DELHI – The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance of the Congress, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Tuesday released its manifesto for Jharkhand Assembly elections, promising seven guarantees for the people. The manifesto was released in Ranchi in the presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and other leaders of Congress, JMM, RJD and CPI(M).

 

The alliance promised INR 2,500 for women under Maiya Samman Yojana from December, one million jobs, INR 1.5 million health insurance for families, INR 3,200 minimum support price for paddy and seven kilogram ration per person under Food Security Gurantee. The INDIA bloc also promised opening of medical and engineering colleges in every districts of the state. It also announced guarantee of social justice with 28% reservation for scheduled tribes, 12% for scheduled castes and 27% for other backward classes.

 

"This is election time and it is important for every party to tell the public that why they should vote for you. Therefore, alliance members have gathered here. After this election, the coming government will move forward with the guarantees that we have launched today," Soren said.

 

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had released Bharatiya Janata Party's Sankalp Patra in Ranchi on Sunday. The BJP announced INR 2,100 for women, free gas cylinders on Diwali and Rakshabandhan and jobs for youth.

 

The assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two-phases on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, and counting of votes scheduled is for Nov. 23. In the 2019 polls, the JMM-led alliance had bagged 47 seats, with the JMM winning 30 seats, Congress 16, and RJD 1, in the 81-member assembly. The BJP had won 25 seats. End
