--RBI: Aug gross FDI inflows $8.61 bln vs $5.22 bln Jul, $4.97 bln year ago 

 

MUMBAI – Gross foreign direct investment into India in August was $8.61 billion, up from $5.22 billion in July, provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India showed on Monday. In August last year, gross FDI investment into India was $4.97 billion. 

 

Total FDI inflows include equity capital, reinvested earnings, and other capital. Net FDI inflows in August were $1.75 billion, against net outflows of $540 million a year ago, according to the RBI data.

 

Manufacturing, financial services, communication services, computer services, and electricity and other generation, distribution and transmission accounted for more than three-fourths of the FDI equity inflows. Singapore, Mauritius, Netherlands, the US and Belgium were the major sources of FDI inflows into India, accounting for a share of 70.8%, according to the RBI.  End
