MUMBAI – The net profit of Punjab & Sind Bank rose 26.7% on year to INR 2.40 billion for the quarter ended September. For the six months ended September, the net profit was at INR 4.21 billion from INR 3.42 billion reported a year ago.

 

The total income of the bank increased 15.8% on year to INR 30.98 billion. Other income for the quarter ended September was at INR 3.6 billion. For Apr-Sept, the total income of the bank was at INR 59.44 billion. Total expenses increased by 9.4% on year to INR 26.40 billion for the quarter under review.    

 

In terms of asset quality, the gross non-performing asset ratio improved to 4.21% as on Sept. 30 from 4.72% a quarter ago, while net NPA ratio stood at 1.46% as on Sept. 30 compared to 1.59% a quarter ago. 

 

The Basel-III capital adequacy ratio was at 16.89% as on Sept. 30. The provision coverage ratio of the bank stood at 88.56% as on Sept. 30 as compared to 88.54% a year ago.  

 

On the National Stock Exchange, shares of Punjab & Sind Bank closed 1.6% higher at INR 52.99 on Friday.  End
