MUMBAI – Indian companies raised $5.91 billion through external commercial borrowings in August, up from $3.58 billion in July, data released by the Reserve Bank of India Wednesday showed.
Indian companies raised $5.46 billion through the automatic route in August, and $449.43 million through the approval route, the data showed. Shriram Finance Ltd. and Power Finance Corp. Ltd. borrowed through the approval route.
Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Ltd. was the largest borrower through the automatic route in August, raising $715.00 million, followed by Bajaj Finance Ltd., which raised $700 million.
