NEW DELHI – The government will hold the second phase of the service sector enterprise survey's pilot study during Nov-Mar, the Ministry Of Statistics and Programme Implementation said in a notification late Thursday. The ministry had begun the pilot of the Annual Survey of Service Sector Enterprises in May.

 

Informist had reported last month that the statistics ministry will likely begin the full survey for service sector enterprises from April after it finishes the pilot survey to test its feasibility and methodology.

 

During the second phase of the pilot, the statistics ministry will collect information from enterprises for the financial year ended March 2023, the ministry said in the notification. The information required relates to the operational characteristics of the enterprise, assets and liabilities, working capital and loans, employment and labour details, tax, and subsidies, among others, it said. 

 

The ministry will collect information from the heads or owners of an incorporated service sector enterprise registered under Goods and Services Tax Network, the ministry said. 

 

The purpose of the second phase of the survey is to collect "statistics relating to growth, composition and structure of corporate entities i.e entities registered under companies Act, 1956 or companies Act, 2013 or Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 and belonging to service sector," the ministry said. 

 

Informist had reported on Sept. 13, citing a senior statistics ministry official, that the results of the pilot service sector enterprise survey would not be released.  End
