UPI transactions jump 42% YoY to 15 bln Sept; transaction amount up 31% YoY

NEW DELHI – The number of transactions on the Unified Payments Interface rose 42% on year to an all-time high of 15.04 billion in September, data released by the National Payments Corp of India showed. The total amount transacted during the month was INR 20.64 trillion, up 31% on year, the data showed.
In August, the transaction volume on the Unified Payments Interface was 14.96 billion, and the transaction amount was INR 20.61 trillion. The transaction amount on the online payment system has stayed above the INR 20 trillion mark for five consecutive months now.
The average daily transaction count was 501 million in September, higher than the 483 million transactions recorded in August. The average daily transaction amount was INR 688.00 billion in September, against INR 664.75 billion in August, the data showed. End
