MUMBAI – Adani Power Ltd. said it has acquired the Dahanu thermal power plant from North Maharashtra Power Ltd. for INR 8.15 billion, and it will invest another INR 4.50 billion in capital expenditure over the next five years to strengthen operations of the thermal power plant.
After the acquisition of the new unit, the total operating power generation capacity of Adani Power has increased to 17,550 MW from 17,050 MW. The Dahanu unit has an operating capacity of 500 MW with two units generating 250 MW of power each. The new unit supplies power to the Mumbai circle of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. under a long-term power purchase agreement. Adani Power said its
capacity utilisation for the June quarter was 78%.
Adani Power had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 39.13 billion for the June quarter on revenues of INR 149.56 billion. On Monday, shares of Adani Power closed at INR 656.15 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.3%. End
