MUMBAI – The services trade surplus fell to $13.92 billion in August from $14.68 billion the previous month, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Monday.
India's services exports rose 5.7% on year to $30.34 billion, while services imports were up 8.8% on an annual basis to $16.42 billion in August. However, services imports were up from the previous month, while exports fell sequentially. Services imports were $15.90 billion in July, and exports were $30.58 billion.
The central bank releases provisional monthly data on India's services trade. This data may undergo revision when the balance-of-payments data are released on a quarterly basis.
In data released Monday, the RBI said net services receipts in Apr-Jun rose to $39.7 billion, against $35.1 billion a year ago. End
