Govt fixes minimum export price on non-basmati white rice at $490/tn

MUMBAI – The government has fixed a minimum export price of $490 per tn for non-basmati white rice, effective from today, the Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.

 

On Friday, the government had allowed the export of non-basmati white rice, but had not specified the minimum export price. Earlier, such exports were banned due to rising domestic prices.

 

On Friday, the government had also reduced the export duty on parboiled rice to 10% from the earlier 20%. It also imposed a 10% duty on export of both paddy and brown rice.   End
