NSE says settlement holiday for FX, gilt, money mkt on Mon to stay

NEW DELHI – The NSE Clearing Ltd said the settlement of secondary market transactions in government securities, the foreign exchange market, the money market and the rupee interest rate derivatives market, which are due on Tuesday, will continue to be on the same day and the settlement holiday for Monday will remain unchanged.
NSE Clearing said in a circular that Wednesday will also be a settlement holiday.
The settlement date for currency derivates traded on Monday will be on Tuesday and those traded on Tuesday will be on Thursday instead of Wednesday, NSE Clearing said in another circular today.
On Saturday, the Reserve Bank of India said the settlement securities market, the foreign exchange market, the money market, and the rupee interest rate derivatives market will be operational on Monday and remain shut on Wednesday, following the Maharashtra government shifting the public holiday for Id-e-Milad to Wednesday from Monday.
