NEW DELHI - India's goods and services tax collections grew 10% on year to 1.750 trln rupees in August, government data released today showed. GST mop-up had grown 10.3% on year at 1.821 trln rupees in July.
GST revenue, net of refunds, for August was 1.505 trln rupees, 6.5% higher than the same period last year. Of the total collection last month, 309 bln rupees was from Central GST, 384 bln rupees from State GST, 936 bln rupees from Integrated GST and 121 bln rupees from compensation cess.
The gross domestic revenue rose 9.2% on year to 1.250 trln rupees in August, while the import revenue was up 12.1% at 500 bln rupees. Total refunds were up sharply by 38% on year at 245 bln rupees in August.
The post-settlement revenues of states rose 11% on year to 3.96 trln rupees in Apr-Aug. End
