Govt nominates Nagaraju Maddirala as director on SBI board

MUMBAI – The government has nominated Nagaraju Maddirala, secretary of the Department of Financial Services, on the central board of directors of State Bank of India with immediate effect, the bank informed exchanges.
Maddirala replaces former secretary of the Department of Financial Services, Vivek Joshi, on the board.
On Aug 16, in one of its major reshuffles in top bureaucratic positions this month, the government appointed Maddirala as banking secretary and Joshi as secretary, Department of Personnel and Training.
Today, shares of State Bank of India closed 0.1% higher at 815.60 rupees on the National Stock Exchange. End
