MUMBAI – Amid tight security, Securities and Exchange Board of India Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch today refused to address questions from the media on her reaction to allegations of conflict of interest on her part by US short-seller Hindenburg Research. Buch addressed a session on the role of fintech in ease of doing business for securities market participants at the Global Fintech Fest earlier today.

After the session, mediapersons rushed to the sidelines to get Buch's response to Hindenburg's allegations, but the SEBI chief was rushed away by security personnel. Hindenburg's allegations were about Buch's conflict of interest in the Adani group probe and also with regard to her husband's advisory role in global private equity firm Blackstone.  End
