MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and central Maharashtra till Wednesday and over east Madhya Pradesh today. 

Very heavy rainfall is likely over parts of Odisha till Friday, over Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, Gujarat Thu-Sat and over costal Karnataka today. Very heavy rainfall is likely in some parts of west and east Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh till Wednesday and over Kerala and Mahe on Thursday, the weather agency said.

Parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, east Rajasthan are likely to receive very heavy rainfall till Wednesday and Himachal Pradesh is likely to witness similar weather today, the weather bureau said. Additionally, above normal temperatures with high humidity is likely to prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the next two days. Hot and humid weather are likely over west Rajasthan for the next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department.

Some parts of Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive very heavy rainfall today, the weather agency said. 

In the past 24 hours, very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall was seen over parts of Saurashtra, Kutch, east Madhya Pradesh, ghat areas of central Maharashtra and very heavy rainfall was also seen over west Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat Region, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka, according to the weather bureau.  End
