--BUDGET: FY25 defence outgo seen at 4.548 trln rupees
MUMBAI – The government today projected an outlay of 4.55 trln rupees for defence in the Budget for 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), unchanged from the Interim Budget. The Budget estimate is marginally lower than the revised estimate of 4.56 trln rupees. Of the total outlay, 2.83 trln rupees will be used for revenue expenditure and 1.72 trln rupees for capital expenditure.
Including civilian and pension expenditure, total defence spending in 2024-25 will be 6.22 trln rupees, compared with the revised estimate of 6.24 trln rupees in 2023-24. End
