NITI Aayog governing council to discuss Viksit Bharat aim on Jul 27

NEW DELHI – The NITI Aayog will hold the ninth meeting of its governing council on Jul 27 during which it will discuss the Vision Document on becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, according to the list of agenda items for the meeting seen by Informist.
At the meeting, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the think tank's apex body is also likely to deliberate on issues of ease of living such as drinking water, electricity, health, and schooling.
The governing council comprises chief ministers of all states and Union Territories with legislatures and lieutenant governors of other Union Territories. The council, which was formed in February 2015, last met on May 27, 2023. During the May meeting, PM Modi had called upon states to be financially prudent and had emphasised on the need for states and Union territories to work along with the Centre to ensure the country grows to its potential.
NITI Aayog was set up in 2015 as a government think tank, replacing the Planning Commission. The prime minister is the chairman of the body. End
