MUMBAI – The London Stock Exchange said in an official statement today that there had been no impact on its trading operations and other services on account of any global technical issue. "RNS news service is currently experiencing a 3rd party global technical issue, preventing news from being published," the LSE statement said.
Outages related to products of Microsoft and global cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike adversely affected several companies across different industries worldwide. In the Indian stock markets, operations of some brokerages were hit because of their usage of the outage-affected products.
Brokerage 5paisa Capital posted on microblogging platform X, formerly Twitter, at 1227 IST that its systems were affected by a global outage connected with Microsoft and Crowdstrike. At 1455 IST, the brokerage posted that the issue had been resolved.
The brokerage said clients could place orders normally. Some clients of the brokerage complained in response to these social media posts that they had incurred losses due to their inability to square off open positions at a time of their choosing.
A spokesperson at Nuvama Wealth said the brokerage did encounter "a limited impact" from the Microsoft information technology outage, but that its networks were built to minimise the effects of such outages. He said the firm deployed a software patch in its back office and settlement functions and reported the same to the exchanges. End
