MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department today forecast extremely heavy rainfall over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana till Friday. Vidarbha and south Chhattisgarh may also receive extremely heavy showers on Friday and Saturday, the weather agency said. Odisha may experience similar weather on Friday, the agency said. 

Extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, and Gujarat till Friday, the weather department said. Konkan and Goa are also likely to receive similar showers during the same period, the agency said, adding that madhya Maharashtra may receive extremely heavy rainfall till Saturday. 

Many places in Karnataka witnessed extremely heavy showers on Wednesday.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over a few areas of Konkan, Goa, and madhya Maharashtra during the next five days, the weather agency said. Parts of Karnataka and Gujarat may also receive similar rainfall during the same time.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may also receive very heavy rain till Saturday, the weather bureau said. Similar weather is also likely over Telangana till Sunday, and over Tamil Nadu till Friday, it said. 

Very heavy showers are likely over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh today, over Odisha today and Saturday, and over Marathwada on Saturday, the department said. Parts of Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive very heavy rainfall till Monday, it said. 

Very heavy rainfall is predicted over Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, the agency said. Uttarakhand may receive similar rainfall on Sunday and Monday, it said.  End
