MUMBAI - The India Meteorological Department today forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Gujarat, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka till Tuesday. Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, including Mumbai, and Goa may also see similar rainfall activity till Tuesday, the weather bureau said.
Kerala and Mahe are also likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall today, the weather bureau said. The agency has predicted similar weather over Saurashtra and Kutch on Tuesday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over a few areas of Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra till Friday, the weather agency said. Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe are also likely to receive similar rainfall over the same period, the agency said.
Very heavy rains are also expected over Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka and south Chhattisgarh today, the weather department said. Marathwada and Vidarbha are also likely to experience similar weather today, it said.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana are likely to receive very heavy showers today, Thursday and Friday, the agency said. Similar weather is likely over west Madhya Pradesh till Tuesday, it said.
Uttarakhand is likely to receive very heavy showers on Wednesday and Thursday, and over east Rajasthan on Thursday, the weather agency said. Very heavy rainfall is predicted over Odisha today and Friday, the agency said.
Many places in Konkan and Goa witnessed extremely heavy showers on Sunday. End
