MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for east Uttar Pradesh for Saturday and Bihar till Sunday amid forecasts of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these states. From Monday, very heavy rainfall is likely to subside to heavy rainfall in the subsequent days, IMD said.
Meanwhile, rainfall activity is expected to remain subdued over the plains of northwest, west-central, and south peninsular India for the next six to seven days due to the absence of any active weather systems over and above these regions, the weather department said. More
