EIA says US natural gas stocks up 61 bcf in week ended Jul 3

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US rose 61 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jul. 3, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed. The inventory was 6.6% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 2.98 trillion cubic feet as of Jul. 3. The stocks were 185 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 2.798 trillion cubic feet, the report said. Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. Of the five regions, the East, Midwest, Pacific, and Mountain regions saw a rise in stocks during the week. In the fifth region, South Central, the Nonsalt division recorded a rise, while stocks in the Salt division fell during the week.
At 0752 IST, the most-active August natural gas contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.1% at $3.01 per million British thermal units. End
