EIA says US natural gas stocks up 87 bcf in week ended Jun 26

MUMBAI – US natural gas inventories were up 87 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jun. 26, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed. The inventory was 6.4% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 2.92 trillion cubic feet as of Jun. 26. The stocks were 175 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 2.75 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. All five regions – the East, Midwest, Pacific, South Central, and the Mountain region – recorded a rise in stocks during the week, the report showed. Prices of the most-active August natural gas contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange were unavailable as the exchange was shut for US Independence Day. End
