Mustard seed rates mixed; soybean, groundnut steady

NEW DELHI – Mustard seed prices rose in some key markets but were steady in others, traders said. Soybean and groundnut prices were largely steady in key spot markets in the country. 

 

MUSTARD seed prices rose INR 25 per 100 kilograms to INR 7,900-INR 7,925 per 100 kg in Jaipur in Rajasthan amid firm demand, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Arrivals across the country were 50,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg) lower at 350,000 bags. 

 

However, in Kota in Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,650 per 100 kg, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said. Mustard seed arrivals in Kota were 11,000 bags, up from 10,000 bags on the previous day.

 

SOYBEAN prices at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh remained steady around INR 3,225-INR 7,450 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were around 3,100 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), he said. In Kota, soybean prices were unchanged at INR 6,870, Sameriya said. Arrivals totalled around 12,000 bags, the same as the previous day.

 

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,050 per 100 kg, Porwal said. Arrivals were around 2,800 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), he added.
