Jaipur-based trading body pegs mustard seed arrivals in June at 1 mln tn

MUMBAI – Mustard seed arrivals across the country in June are estimated at 1 million tonnes, Jaipur-based Marudhar Trading Agency said in a report. Total arrivals from March to June have been pegged at 6.5 million tonnes, it said.
Mills in India crushed 900,000 tonnes of mustard seeds, which takes the Mar-Jun crushing figure to 5.3 million tonnes, the agency said.
According to the release, stocks of mustard seeds with farmers as on Jun. 30 were 5.1 million tonnes, and those with processors and stockists were 1.4 million tonnes.
Mustard, a rabi oilseed crop, is sown between October and early December across north, east, and northeast India. The crop matures in 108–147 days and is harvested between mid-February and May. Marudhar Trading Agency has estimated mustard production in crop year 2025-26 (marketing year 2026-27) at 11.7 million tonnes. End
