--Cabinet OKs INR 69.70 bln for 6-laning Dwarka tunnel in Delhi
NEW DELHI – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs Wednesday approved the construction of a six-lane tunnel on National Highway 148AE in Delhi, with a capital outlay of INR 69.70 billion. The project will be completed in five years, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said at a media briefing.
The eight-kilometre long tunnel will connect Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj, in Delhi. The project will provide faster connectivity between West Delhi and South Delhi. The tunnel will also include a proposed elevated corridor between All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and Mahipalpur. End
