At 1118 IST, the Composite index was at 22116.23 points, down 1.11% from the previous close of 22364.53. It had opened almost flat at 22363.92 points.
The bullion index was trading at 32836.11 points, down 1.36%. Gold was down 1.08%, while silver was down 2.17%. A strong dollar and expectations that the Fed may raise interest rates this year pulled gold down in early trade.
