Soybean down in Ratlam on subdued demand; mustard steady

MUMBAI – Soybean prices fell in Ratlam due to subdued demand at higher prices but were steady in Kota, traders said. Groundnut prices fell in Ratlam and mustard prices were steady in key markets, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices were steady in Jaipur at INR 7,875-INR 7,900 per 100 kg as demand was need-based at higher price levels, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were 450,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), the same as the previous day.
In Kota, too, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,880 per 100 kg as oil mills have already stocked up on domestic oilseeds and there was little demand at the moment, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Mustard seed arrivals in Kota were 10,000 bags, the same as the previous day.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, fell INR 100 to INR 3,325-INR 7,450 per 100 kg as demand was limited, Narendra Porwal, a local trader, said. Arrivals were at 3,100 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), down 200 bags from the previous day, he said. In Kota, soybean prices were steady at INR 6,850 per 100 kg as demand improved, Sameriya said. Arrivals totalled 14,000 bags, the same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam fell INR 100 to INR 3,350-INR 8,050 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 2,800 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), down 300 bags from the previous day, they said.
