If country still run by Constitution, we may get justice - Shiv Sena (UBT)

NEW DELHI – Slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party for allegedly engineering a split in opposition parties and "buying" their lawmakers, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) legislator Aaditya Thackeray Monday said that if the country is still being governed by the Constitution, his party hopes to get justice. His comments came in the context of six of the nine Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha members defecting to the rival Shiv Sena faction.
Thackeray, the son of former chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray called the defecting MPs "not rebels but cowards and saleable". "They were elected in the name of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and the Maha Vikas Aghadi against the BJP. Now, the BJP wants to include them in their 'daldal' (quagmire)," Thackeray told reporters in Mumbai.
He said that the BJP wanted to change the Constitution of the country by achieving two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha. "It is not just about our party. The Trinamool Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party were also split the same way. If there is law and Constitution in this country, if this country is still governed by Constitution, then we hope to get justice," he added.
In Delhi, Congress Spokesperson Pawan Khera termed the BJP's luring of opposition MPs to its fold as "Operation Keechad". "This is operation 'keechad' (sludge) because the lotus (BJP's party symbol) could not flower in these constituencies," Khera told news agency ANI. "But our question is: why is the prime minister so hurt since he stopped at 240 and not 400 seats that now he is busy stealing MPs from other parties? What is the intention behind this dacoity? Is the intention to actually change the Constitution?"
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena legislator Pratap Sarnaik told reporters in Mumbai that the six MPs "who follow the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray" will be joining the Shiv Sena at 1500 IST Monday. "They have given a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker. We welcome them. We thank Sanjay Raut because of whom, first, the MLAs joined our party, and now six MPs are joining our party," Sarnaik said. End
