EIA says US natural gas stocks up 73 bcf in week ended Jun 12

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US rose 73 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jun. 12, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 5.8% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 2.76 trillion cubic feet as of Jun. 12. The stocks were 151 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 2.61 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. All five regions--the East, Midwest, Pacific, South Central, and the Mountain region--saw a rise in stocks during the week, the report showed. At 0817 IST, the most-active July contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.2% at $3.211 per million British thermal units. End
