Global gold ETFs witness $3.42-bln net withdrawals in week to Jun 12 - WGC

MUMBAI – Investors in global gold exchange traded funds withdrew $3.42 billion on a net basis in the week ended Jun. 12, data from World Gold Council showed. Inflows in gold ETFs were at $850 million, while outflows were $4.27 billion. Investors in Europe were the highest sellers, with withdrawals totalling $1.55 billion, followed by North America with withdrawals of $1.14 billion.

 

As on Jun. 12, global ETFs were holding 4,080.6 tonnes of gold, down 25.2 tonnes from a week ago, as investors booked profits. 

 

The data on India's gold ETFs as of week ended Jun. 12 was not updated. However, as on May 29, for which the latest data was available, gold ETFs in India faced a net redemption of $61.7 million during the week. At the end of the week, India's gold ETFs were holding 116.3 tonnes of the yellow metal, down 0.4 tonne from the week earlier.  End
