MUMBAI – The government has lowered the base import price of gold by $80 to $1,343 per 10 grams, according to a notification issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs late Thursday. The base import price of silver has been cut by $276 to $2,092 per kilogram. The base import prices of both precious metals were last revised on May 30.
