MUMBAI – Oilseed prices were largely steady in key spot markets across the country, traders said. Mustard seed prices fell in Jaipur, Rajasthan, due to weak demand at higher levels, they said.

MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell INR 100 per 100 kilograms to INR 8,000-INR 8,025 due to sluggish demand at higher levels, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. As crushers were keen to buy domestic oilseeds rather than rely on imported crude edible oils, prices increased significantly over the past few months, traders said. Arrivals across the country were at 600,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), the same as the previous day.

In Kota, Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,725 per 100 kg, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Mustard seed arrivals in Kota were at 17,000 bags, the same as the previous day, he said.

SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,325-INR 7,850 per 100 kg after rising significantly last month, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 3,600 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), the same as the previous day, he said. In Kota, soybean prices were steady at INR 7,500 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals totalled 12,000 bags, down 1,000 bags from the previous day.

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,450 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as the previous day, they said.
