Gujarat begins registration of farmers for procurement of moong at MSP

MUMBAI – The on-line registration process for procurement of summer 2025-26 crop moong in Gujarat started on Wednesday and will continue till Jun. 10, a state government release said Tuesday. The government will purchase moong during the fortnight from registered farmers at the minimum support price of INR 8,768 per 100 kilogram. For kharif crop 2026-27, the central government has raised the MSP to INR 8,780 per 100 kg.

 

Farmers willing to sell moong crop to the government are advised to approach local e-gram centres where their registration will be performed through biometric authentication or face authentication process, the release said.

 

Current market price of the pulse are lower than the MSP, which is expected to attract farmers to the government procurement, it said.  End
