MUMBAI – A risk management fee of INR 2.50 per INR 100,000 for every fresh overnight open interest position will be levied for the Mumbai Rainfall Futures contract, which will be launched Friday on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, according to a circular from the National Commodity Clearing Ltd. issued Monday. After Sept. 30, this fee will be increased to INR 5.00, it added.

On Wednesday, NCDEX said it will launch Mumbai rainfall-based futures contract RAINMUMBAI, enabling the market to hedge against business losses from unexpected rainfall during the monsoon season starting in June. The contract will go live on Friday, and the underlying is the deviation in Mumbai's actual rainfall from the 30-year historical average.  End
