Mixed; mustard seed down in Kota on limited demand

MUMBAI – Oilseed prices were mixed across key markets in the country, traders said. Mustard seed prices were steady in Jaipur but fell in Kota as demand was limited at higher prices. Soybean prices rose in Ratlam but were steady in Kota. Groundnut prices were steady in key markets, traders said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, were steady at INR 7,875-INR 7,900 per 100 kg after rising the past few days on firm demand for domestic oilseeds amid higher cost of imported edible oils, traders at the Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were at 800,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), down from 900,000 bags the previous day, they said.
In Kota, also in Rajasthan, mustard seed prices fell INR 50 to INR 7,650 per 100 kg after rising over the past few days as crushers were keen to buy domestic oilseeds instead of relying on imported finished products, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Mustard seed arrivals in Kota were at 20,000 bags, down 4,000 bags from the previous day, he said. There was limited demand at higher prices on Monday, traders said.
SOYBEAN prices at Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, rose by INR 200 to INR 3,325-INR 7,850 per 100 kg on good demand for domestic oilseeds, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 3,600 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), up 400 bags from the previous day. In Kota, soybean prices were steady at INR 7,450 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 14,000 bags, same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,450 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), down 100 bags from the previous day, they said.
