Mustard seed steady in key markets; soybean down in Kota

MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices were steady in Rajasthan's Kota and Jaipur as there was a need-based demand at higher prices, traders said. Soybean prices fell in Kota due to higher arrivals but were steady in Ratlam, and groundnut prices were steady in key markets, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, were steady at INR 7,875-INR 7,900 per 100 kg after rising the past few days on firm demand for domestic oilseeds amid higher cost of imported edible oils, traders at the Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were at 900,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), the same as on the previous day, they said.
In Kota, also in Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,700 per 100 kg after rising by INR 325 the previous day as crushers were keen to buy domestic oilseeds instead of relying on imported finished products, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Mustard seed arrivals in Kota were at 24,000 bags, up 5,000 bags from the previous day, he said. There was limited demand at higher prices on Friday, traders said.
SOYBEAN prices at Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,325-INR 7,650 per 100 kg after rising by INR 1,000 this week on good demand for domestic oilseeds, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), the same as the previous day.
In Kota, soybean prices fell by INR 100 to INR 7,450 per 100 kg due to higher arrivals, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 14,000 bags, up 2,000 bags from the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,450 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,300 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as on the previous day, they said.
