DGFT asks exporters to provide details of pharma grade sugar export

MUMBAI – The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has asked exporters to submit a utilisation certificate showing the quantity of pharma grade sugar exported against their allotted quota. Exporters who have used more than 50% of their quota may get the authorisation extended for another six months, it said in a notification.
However, exporters may still retain the quota if they can provide valid export contracts or purchase orders supporting future exports. Exporters who need additional quota must submit a request explaining why they require more quantity, along with copies of export contracts or purchase orders if available, according to the notification. The notification states that these documents must be submitted within 10 days from the date of issuance of the notice.
Exporters have to apply through the DGFT online system by filing a revalidation application and attaching the required documents on their company letterhead. However, exporters who have already submitted a revalidation application do not need to apply again.
DGFT has also warned that failure to submit the required information within the deadline may lead to action, including reallocation of the unused quota. Additionally, incomplete applications, applications sent through email or post, or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. DGFT has reserved the right to decide or modify the method of distribution and allocation based on the applications received. End
