MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices in Jaipur fell due to poor demand at higher prices, and prices in Kota were steady after rising significantly the previous day, traders said. Soybean and mustard prices were steady in key markets, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur fell INR 50 to INR 7,350-INR 7,375 per 100 kilograms, as demand was sluggish at elevated levels, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Prices have increased by INR 250 per 100 kg over the past few days, leading to need-based demand, traders said. Arrivals across the country were at 900,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), down from 950,000 bags the previous day, they said.
In Kota, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,251 per 100 kg, after rising INR 251 as there was firm demand due to an increase in imported soft oil prices, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,325-INR 6,650 per 100 kg, after rising by INR 400-INR 500 per 100 kg due to firm demand from millers for domestic oilseeds, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), the same as the previous day. Demand was need-based at higher rates, he said. In Kota, the price of soybean was steady at INR 6,700 per 100 kg after rising by INR 850 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 12,000 bags, the same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,350 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as the previous day, they said.
