NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of all spices fell on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange on Friday. Coriander prices fell to a one-month low as purchasing interest remained low at prevailing prices.

The most active June contract of JEERA fell 1.7% to INR 20,130 per 100 kilograms amid high supplies and subdued export demand. "Favourable weather conditions across northwest India allowed farmers to complete harvesting faster than expected," Kedia Advisory said in a note. Fresh crop arrivals have increased in Rajasthan as farmers actively offloaded stocks to generate liquidity for the upcoming kharif season. Kedia Advisory sees the contract trading in the range of INR 20,040-INR 20,480.

The most active June contract of TURMERIC was down 1.7% at INR 16,250 per 100 kg amid increased arrivals and weak export demand. The weekly average arrivals have risen sharply by around 155% to 26,037 tonnes, indicating significant supply pressure in key markets, SMC Global Securities said. Lingering tensions in West Asia continue to complicate export logistics, prompting buyers to defer commitments, Kedia Advisory said. Turmeric may trade sideways before moving either side between the INR 16,130-INR 16,930 range, SMC Global said.

The most active June contract of CORIANDER closed down 2.3% at INR 12,618 per 100 kg, after hitting a one-month low of INR 12,444. Prices fell as buying interest remained low at prevailing prices. However, analysts see limited further decline amid production concerns and depleting supplies across markets. Arrivals in markets have declined by 31% on month at 20,828 tonnes in April, SMC Global said. Going forward, coriander futures are expected to trade with a positive bias in the INR 12,850– INR 12,990 range, SMC Global said.
