MCX iCOMDEX Composite index turns positive as bullion, base metal rates up

MUMBAI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India's iCOMDEX Composite index opened marginally lower Friday at 25026.94 points compared with 25028.36 points at previous close. However, by 0941 IST, it was trading 0.39% higher at 25125.41 points.
Among the three components of the Composite index, bullion was trading 0.48% up, with gold trading 0.38% up, while silver was up by 0.82%.
The base metals index was trading in the positive territory, higher by 0.26%. Aluminium and copper were trading higher by 0.23% and 0.40%. Lead was down 0.20%, while zinc was up 0.19%.
The energy index was almost flat, with crude oil sub-index up 0.49% but natural gas down 0.14%.
The MCX iCOMDEX comprises a series of real-time commodity futures price indices and tracks the performance of a basket of commodity futures. It serves as a benchmark for market movements in bullion, base metals, and energy. End
