MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices fell in Jaipur due to sluggish demand at high rates, but rose in Kota, traders said. Soybean prices rose in Kota but were steady in Ratlam and groundnut prices were steady in the key markets, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur fell INR 100 per 100 kilograms to INR 7,300-INR 7,325 as demand was sluggish at elevated levels, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were at 950,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), the same as the previous day.
On the other hand, mustard seed prices in Kota rose by INR 251 to INR 7,251 per 100 kg as availability of soft oils such as sunflower oil, soyoil and canola oil was low. Hence, there was good demand for mustard seeds from crushers, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said. Arrivals of mustard seed were at 18,000 bags, Sameriya said.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,325-INR 6,650 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), the same as the previous day. Demand was need-based at higher rates, he said.
In Kota, the price of soybean rose INR 700 to INR 6,550 per 100 kg due to lower arrivals, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 10,000 bags, down 2,000 bags from the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,350 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as the previous day, they said.
