MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices fell in Rajasthan's Jaipur as demand was subdued at higher rates, traders said. However, mustard seed prices were steady in Rajasthan's Kota. Soybean and groundnut prices were steady in key markets in the country, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur fell INR 50 per 100 kilograms to INR 7,400-INR 7,425 as demand was sluggish at elevated levels, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Prices have increased by INR 250 per 100 kg over the past two days, leading to low demand, traders said. Arrivals across the country were at 950,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), down from 1.0 million bags the previous day, they said. In Kota, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,000 per 100 kg, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,325-INR 6,650 per 100 kg, after rising by INR 400-INR 500 per 100 kg on Monday due to firm demand from millers for domestic oilseeds, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), the same as the previous day. Demand was need-based at higher rates, he said. In Kota, the price of soybean was steady at INR 5,850 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 12,000 bags, the same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,350 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,200 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as the previous day, they said.
