MCX iCOMDEX Composite index opens marginally up, supported by natural gas

MUMBAI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India's iCOMDEX Composite index opened marginally up Monday with component indices largely flat from their previous close. The index opened 0.1% up at 24974.49. By 0924 IST, it had moved up to 24984.08.
Of the three component indices of the Composite index, bullion was down nearly 0.1%, base metals was flat and energy index was up 0.7%.
The bullion index was pulled down by both gold and silver indices, which were down 0.1?ch.
In the base metals index, copper and lead were up 0.2?ch, while aluminium and zinc were down 0.1?ch.
In the energy index, crude oil sub-index was up 0.3% and natural gas was up 2.2%.
The MCX iCOMDEX comprises a series of real-time commodity futures price indices and tracks the performance of a basket of commodity futures. It serves as a benchmark for market movements in bullion, base metals, and energy. End
