Mustard up in Jaipur on firm demand for good quality seeds

MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices rose in Jaipur due to firm demand for good quality seeds, but prices were steady in Kota due to need-based demand, traders said. Soybean and groundnut prices were steady across key markets due to limited demand at higher rates, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, rose INR 25 to INR 7,250-INR 7,275 per 100 kilograms as there was firm demand for seeds with higher oil content, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were at 1.1 million bags (1 bag = 50 kg), the same as the previous day, they said.
In Kota, Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 6,950 per 100 kg, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Prices were steady as demand was limited at higher rates, he said.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 2,925-INR 6,150 per 100 kg as there was limited demand at higher rates, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Prices rose the previous day by INR 100 per 100 kg due to firm demand, he said. Arrivals in the market were also steady at 2,600 bags (1 bag = 40 kg). In Kota, the price of soybean was steady at INR 5,850 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 12,000 bags, same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,350-INR 8,250 per 100 kg after rising by INR 100 the previous day due to firm demand, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,300 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), they said.
