MUMBAI – Prices of mustard rose in Jaipur and Kota as there was firm demand for seeds with higher oil content, traders said. Soybean and groundnut prices were steady in key markets, they said.

MUSTARD seed prices rose in Jaipur, Rajasthan, by INR 25 to INR 7,200-INR 7,225 per 100 kilograms, traders at the Marudhar Trading Agency said. Arrivals across the country were at 1.05 million bags (1 bag = 50 kg), up from 1.0 million bags the previous day, they said. Prices rose as demand was firm with the new arrivals having higher oil content, they said.

In Kota, Rajasthan, mustard seed prices rose INR 50 to INR 6,950 per 100 kg because of good demand from crushers, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader.

SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 2,825-INR 5,950 per 100 kg as demand was limited at higher prices, Narendra Porwal, a local trader, said. Arrivals were at 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), same as the previous day. In Kota, the price of soybean was steady at INR 5,850 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 12,000 bags, down 1,000 bags from the previous day.

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,250-INR 8,150 per 100 kg, traders said. Arrivals were at 3,300 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), they said.
