Most oilseed prices steady; mustard seed tad dn in Jaipur

MUMBAI – Prices of most edible oilseeds were steady across key markets in the country on Monday as demand and supply were broadly in line, traders said. However, going forward, prices are likely to increase as edible oil imports have become costlier, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Kota, Rajasthan, were steady at INR 6,650 per 100 kilograms. In Jaipur, however, prices fell by INR 25 to INR 7,125-INR 7,150 per 100 kg. Arrivals fell to 80,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg) from 950,000 bags the previous day, traders said.
Meanwhile, soybean and groundnut prices were steady in key spot markets, taders said. SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 2,825-INR 5,850 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Prices in Kota were steady at INR 5,700 per 100 kg, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,250-INR 8,100 per 100 kg, traders said.
