MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices rose in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as demand from crushers improved at lower rates, but were steady in Kota, traders said. Prices of soybean and groundnut were steady in key markets, they added.

Mustard seed prices rose in Jaipur by INR 50 to INR 7,150-INR 7,175 per 100 kilogram as demand improved, traders at Marudhar Trading Agency said. Prices also rose as arrivals fell to 1.0 million bags (1 bag = 50 kg) from 1.1 million bags the previous day, they said. Prices could rise further in the coming days on the back of improved demand for the domestic oilseed amid higher prices for imported edible oil, traders said.

Mustard seed prices were steady in Kota, Rajasthan, at INR 6,650 per 100 kg due to subdued demand, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said. Arrivals in Kota were 22,000 bags, same as the previous day.

SOYBEAN prices at Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 2,825-INR 5,850 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals in the market were 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), same as the previous day. Soybean prices were steady in Kota at INR 5,700 per 100 kg, as demand from millers improved, said Sameriya. Arrivals in Kota were 12,000 bags, up 1,000 bags from the previous day.

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,250-INR 8,100 per 100 kg. Arrivals were 3,500 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), the same as the previous day.
